![]() Move or swing the Nunchuk left and Danny’s axe moves accordingly. Thrust or swing the Wiimote to the right and Danny delivers a right punch. ![]() Basically, Danny’s moves mimic your real-life moves. The controls for the most part are excellent: the game employs both the Wiimote and Nunchuk to full effect. There are two levels of difficulty – Sane and Insane (I played it safe and chose “Sane”). ![]() Playing “Manhunt 2” on the Nintendo Wii is a highly entertaining experience. But what is “The Project”? How deep was Danny involved in it? And what exactly has it done to him? These are just some of the questions that drive “Manhunt 2”. Danny has occasional flashbacks, which help him realize he was part of a mysterious medical experiment called “The Project”. He is aided throughout his harrowing journey by fellow inmate Leo, who often instructs him (and therefore you) what to do. He is reluctant to kill but knows he must in order to escape and survive…and piece together exactly what has happened to him. You control the actions of the aptly-named Danny Lamb, a docile patient with an impaired memory. After an electrical failure, the inmates are literally taking over the asylum. The beginning of the game takes place in Dixmor Hospital for the Criminally Insane. After completing the tutorial of Wiimote and Nunchuk moves (which includes some very funny, if grisly, sound effects), I dove in. Having never played the original “Manhunt”-and not being a fan of stealth games-I had little idea what to expect. Having followed the saga, and very curious about the game’s content (plus I’m a huge fan of previous Rockstar games), I made it my business to rent the Wii version and play it. So now “Manhunt 2” is available in stores for Nintendo Wii, Playstation 2 and PSP. Undaunted, Rockstar made some revisions, and eventually the game received a “Mature” rating. Sony and Nintendo do not release games with that rating-and they’re not carried by Blockbuster and Walmart. Then it was given the kiss-of-death “Adults Only” rating here in the US by the ESRB. First, it was banned in England due to its graphic violence. I would rate this with a 7.Along with the release of “ Halo 3” and the unfortunate postponement of “GTA IV”, one of the biggest video game stories of the year is the saga of Rockstar’s “Manhunt 2”. Despite its shortcomings, fans of the first Manhunt and horror movies should enjoy it. It's mindlessly entertaining, but lacks the quality of the best stealth titles. However, this is easily the company's weakest effort. There is also a reference to San Andreas, the city from Rockstar's very own Grand Theft Auto series. The game also pays homage to Eli Roth's grisly Hostel. His brain was experimented on by a shadowy organization so that he could act as an assassin in a moment's notice. The game borrows the premise of The Manchurian Candidate and features a nerdy protagonist named Daniel Lamb who suffers from vivid hallucinations. Additionally, the campaign is brief and contains very little replay value. Unfortunately, the level design is pretty bland and the enemy A.I. ![]() Developed by Rockstar London, it features the same gameplay as the original, but has a new setting and scenario. 2007, this was the last Rockstar Games title made for the PS2. The killings and gore had to be censored (a stylish filter was used) in order for the game to be rated 'M'. Originally rated 'AO' for explicit violence, the game was even more controversial than the first. It isn't as good as its predecessor and feels cheaply made. But it is somewhat Manhunt 2 is a like a low-budget, straight-to-video sequel. Manhunt 2 is a like a low-budget, straight-to-video sequel.
